At least the Clio V6 only had a lightly modified engine and trans out of a Laguna/Avantime, so it can be somewhat daily driven. The R5 Turbo on the other hand had a 1.4L Pushrod engine with the same output as a modern Abarth 595 achieved through 1980s Turbocharging. Now that is near undriveable.

I’ve always wanted one but that want was tempered by three crucial factors:

1. I could never afford one;

2. It was a Renault and a highly strung one at that; and

3. My driving abilities would ensure that my lifeless body would be found within the crumpled wreckage of it somewhere downslope of an amazing road somewhere...
